A village in Walton-on-Thames

Over the weekend my family and I went to visit my aunt who lives in a small village in Walton-on-Thames. I was really excited as the charity shops around her home always seem to be studded with great vintage treasures waiting to be found. The last picture is of a 50's doll house displayed in one of the shop windows, it was a little steep at £100, but still it's quite rare to find such items in charity shops here in the UK. I found quite a few jumpers, a 70's tapestry bag and several 80's scarves as well as some great jewellery (mainly 80's brooches). I have been really busy this week but I will take pictures of the finds and post them up soon.

The lovely Nicole of Spontaneous Reality who ran a very popular flower headband workshop using discarded flowers from local flower shops and created some foxy creations through the day!

The shopping wall featured work by local artists for sale and included the lovely lady above. Painted in acrylic and oils onto a wood panel by Stuart.

The fabulous Michael who bought this sheer red 80's shirt from dearsweetagatha for £18. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you and you rock!! It looked divine on you.

The first ever New Gallery Jumble which was held yesterday at The New Gallery in Camberwell. A jumble with a strong moral grounding, it only featured up-cycled, re-purposed, and second hand things. Advertised as 'A place to shop with a clear conscience' it was right up my street. It was a busy day and as a result was a fab day for trading. It was great to hold a stall at a space that was organised so differently and also had a totally different ambience to the spaces that I usually hold stalls at (almost always pubs or bars). It allowed creativity through display and just breathed some life into stall holding at jumbles in general. The clothing rails were provided for sellers which was an extremely kind gesture as carrying the rail to and from the venue is never my (I say my, however it's always Stuart who carries the rail...cheeky me!) Well anyway it's never any sellers favourite part of doing a sale!

I met some fabulous new sellers especially Yvette of Hope and Eden and her sister Louise. It never ceases to amaze me how friendly and welcoming the jumbling community is. It's great running your own stall.

I had my hair cut and styled (as it was so overdue) by my hairdresser the fabulous Miss Betty at "It's something Hells" in Soho, London. The styling is part of getting a wash and a cut and costs £60

Around two and a half years ago Stuart and I visited my sister in Royal Oak, MI. As there is virtually no public transport there we spent the summer cycling around and discovered Lost and Found Vintage just by chance whilst out in downtown Royal Oak. We'd spend an hour cycling in the sweltering heat to get there and an hour back, but it was worth it, they have a amazing vintage collection at their shop and if your ever in the area you should pay them a visit. And of course all of that cycling also gave us an excuse to visit the Cold Stone Creamery after...A total win-win I say!

It was my good friend Joel's birthday last night and here are some pictures for you to take a sneaky peek at what I wore!

Mmmm...Flowery goodness!

So I went out with my sister today and ended up in Accessorize (a high street jewellery and accessory chain store). I've always really thought of it as a mass manufacturer of impersonal and unethical junk, but much to my disgust I actually ended up finding these gorgeous flower hair pieces in there at 70% off, so obviously I had to buy them and got all of these for £12.90! I love wearing colourful flowers in my hair with my victory rolls in place, it's SO 50's Hawaiian pin-up-esque...Hot, hot, hot!

2011 is the year of passion! Happy New Year.

The gorgeous Lady Kamikaze who co-hosted and DJ-ed last night at The Camden Arms.

What I wore: 50's full circle sheer silk dress (that has a slip with lace accenting attached) with a crinoline to give the dress extra body. Both were bought from Ebay around two years ago, the dress was around £35 and the crinoline around £20.

Thank you to everyone who complimented me on this weave box purse last night, it's definitely a firm favourite of mine (aside from the house bag which I'll have to post on here soon!) It was bought from Nichestyle on Etsy for $14.99.

Two of our fabulous friends, Pedro who wore a 50's loop shirt (who said that he was wearing red because it was 'the colour of passion', oh and also that '2011 is going to be the year of passion'!! Hahaha!) Though in his slight defence he was pretty drunk by this point, bless him. And the lovely Chloe who wore a stunning heavily embellished gold 50's Mexican bustier dress, I didn't get a picture of her hair but she had silver roses in amongst the red curls.

I hope you all had a fabulous new years, we spent the evening jiving, drinking, hugging and sleeping! Here's to a wonderful 2011 with many a blogpost to come (ohhh and things in my Etsy shop too!)
