My mascots for dearsweetagatha, my grandparents. And this frame made by my grandfather (pictured, he was a carpenter) will accompany me to every sale from now on! I believe the frame is atleast 70 years old and was made in Uganda where my grandad had a workshop and they lived for most part of their lives.
The gorgeous Miss Teju Bolaji of Vintage Tartlette, whom I had the great pleasure of working with at Barboot take 4.
February was one of those months...anyway enough said! I have a backlog of posts to put up and have made an effort to photograph individual items which I kept promising to take, well they will be here shortly. Finally and hoorah!
Barboot take 4 was a fab event, held every first Friday evening of the month it's definitely worth a visit every time. It was the first Barboot I have ever done (and hopefully the first of many), it was also the first sale that I decided to drive to so I was able to take along more props to display my offerings such as the bookshelf and suitcase. I have since realised these extra bits are essential to putting on a good sale, a sale that is a lot more dynamic and visually exciting.
The sale originally started off in The haberdashery, a cafe in Crouch End however since it's popularity has soared the monthly sale has been spread over several shops on the same street. Us vintage dolls were in Powder, a boutique where the window spaces were kindly cleared to host us for the evening. Overall super stuff!
Woah man, that looks like so much fun! We never have anything nearly as awesome as that in New Zealand. Vintage shopping here is so dull compared to everywhere else in the world!
